Marvel Studios has released the second Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, giving a fresh look at Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s MCU summer adventure.
A new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer has been released, showing more footage from the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe installment. While there are limited Marvel movies being released in 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine is eying to be one of the biggest ones yet for Marvel Studios. While the old X-Men movie universe is essentially over, the story is far from over for Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, as he is crossing over to the MCU and becoming a regular player.
Reynolds shared over the weekend that a new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer would be arriving on Monday, coming nearly two months after the first one debuted during the Super Bowl. As promised, the latest trailer has now been released, spotlighting the Deadpool & Wolverine cast and the larger story. Check it out below:
Marvel Studios also debuted two new posters for Deadpool & Wolverine, with Reynolds and Jackman’s characters looking into each others’ reflections in the swords and the claws. Check out the gallery below:
Everything The New Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer Reveals About The Movie
After a lot of theories on how Jackman would be factored into Deadpool & Wolverine, the trailer appears to confirm that this is a variant that the MCU will be following, allowing the version who died in the Logan movie to remain gone. This version of Wolverine seemingly failed his X-Men universe, as Paradox states that Logan “let down his entire world.” The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer also shows Logan in front of what appears to be tombstones, which may belong to his fallen X-Men allies.
Whether or not Emma Corrin is playing the Marvel villain Cassandra Nova, their character definitely seems to have issues with this Wolverine variant. However, from the character’s action scenes with Logan and the powers that are shown off in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, as well as how the character looks visually, the sneak preview makes a good case for Corrin’s Marvel role being none other than Charles Xavier’s twin sister. It wouldn’t be shocking if Corrin’s villain is perhaps from the same world as the new Wolverine variant, hence their conflict.
One of the biggest takeaways from the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer is Wade and Logan jumping into a portal as this world – possibly the X-Men movie universe – is completely destroyed, with dark clouds swarming in, which may be the final nail in the coffin for Fox’s Marvel franchise. However, it’s interesting that the portal that they go through is the same one that Doctor Strange is able to cast, raising questions as to whether the Sorcerer Supreme is involved or another magic user or means of travel entirely. With only three months left to go before Deadpool & Wolverine releases in theaters, time will tell what other surprises the movie has in store for the MCU audience.
