Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman talk about potentially showing up in Avengers movies. The two actors are set to make their Marvel Cinematic Universe debut at the end of the month, with Deadpool & Wolverine’s roster of characters also adding several players from the first two Deadpool movies and the Fox Marvel films to the MCU. With anticipation high for the movie, fans already want to know if there is more coming from Deadpool and Wolverine.

Speaking to VarietyRyan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman played coy about whether they will appear in an Avengers film after Deadpool & Wolverine. Reynolds said, “We’ll see,” while Jackman did not know how to approach the subject. Based on the actors’ popularity, it would make sense for Deadpool and Wolverine to appear in a few of Marvel’s announced movies, with the two Avengers films making the most sense. Perhaps by the end of Deadpool & Wolverine‘s story, an Avengers debut for the duo will be teased. Check out the full exchange below

INTERVIEWER: Now that Deadpool and Wolverine joined the MCU, will either of you appear in “Avengers” movies?

REYNOLDS: I don’t know. Yeah, we’ll see. Yeah.

LEVY: Now is where you go to the descriptive part of the article and say, “ They were shuffling in their seats. ”

JACKMAN: Clearly, this is our first major interview of this press tour. I’m not sure how to answer.

LEVY: We’re going to get a far more packed and evasive answer for all future interviews.

REYNOLDS: “ An echoing cough in the distance; a hawk circles .” You can throw that in there if you like.

How Deadpool & Wolverine Could Fit In Future Avengers Movies

The Multiverse Saga Needs Major Stars

Deadpool & Wolverine-3

The MCU has been struggling in recent years after the major stars left and a few projects underperformed. As such, Marvel’s Multiverse Saga needs all the talent it can get to help turn things around. With Deadpool & Wolverine already breaking records without even premiering, Marvel should be keen to keep Reynolds and Jackman around as their X-Men characters, even if one of them leaves after a few more movies.

At 55, Jackman is too old to play the MCU’s Wolverine in Marvel’s planned X-Men movie. However, before the team is brought into the MCU, he could appear alongside Reynolds in Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars. With Deadpool and Wolverine coming into contact with Loki‘s TVA and the multiverse in their MCU debut, it would make sense for the characters to play a big role in helping the Avengers take down Kang the Conqueror and his variants — or whatever other threat may arise.

Reynolds also commented on how long he could continue to play Deadpool for, revealing he could see himself in either solo films or ” being part of an ensemble ,” which could connect to Avengers movies.

Since Deadpool and Wolverine will come from different universes, the duo could join the Avengers to make sure their universes are safe. With a multiversal threat, the Avengers could form a team with heroes from other universes to help the MCU’s main heroes. Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, who is the protector of the multiverse, could also be the one to recruit Deadpool and Wolverine for one of the Avengers films, as he would have a connection to them through the TVA. After Deadpool & Wolverine, Jackman’s hero could make a couple more appearances while Reynolds’ Deadpool fully moves into the MCU.
