We’re sending Reba McEntire all of our positive thoughts for a speedy recovery. The 67-year-old singer and actress announced on Instagram that her doctor has placed her on vocal rest. Even though she’s having to reschedule her performances for the weekend, fans are reaching out with messages of support and understanding.

Reba, who currently stars alongside her boyfriend Rex Linn on the ABC drama Big Sky: Deadly Trails, made the announcement with a special message.

She wrote, “An update about this weekend’s shows…My doctor has advised me to go on vocal rest, so I have made the difficult decision to reschedule this weekend’s shows.
All tickets will be honored for the new dates:
December 2 • Columbus, OH
December 3 • Raleigh, NC
December 16 • Indianapolis, IN
Thank you for understanding!
Love,
Reba”

Reba didn’t reveal what caused her vocal strain, but it’s a common occurrence for singers. While rescheduling shows is always a disappointment, vocal rest is often the only cure. Reba’s announcement was met with messages of support form her devoted fans:

“Aww, always a hard call to make but good to put your health first!! Rest well!!!”
“Rest up! We love your beautiful voice!! But we want you to keep it healthy! 💙”
“Please rest and take care of yourself!! We love you and want you healthy!!!❤️❤️❤️”

Reba is also scheduled to perform during next week’s CMA Awards in Nashville. No word on whether she’ll be able to sing during the November 9 broadcast, but we hope to see her healthy and performing again soon.
