Real reason why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have lost their Hollywood friends

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex seem to have lost contact with many of their high-profile friendships, as an expert explains why.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly lost ties with many of their high-profile connections, as the couple continues to navigate the rift with the Royal Family.

According to PR expert Ronn Torossian, the evidence pointing to these broken friendships is clear, as the Sussexes struggle to maintain their social circle.

“It’s clear that several of Meghan’s high-profile friendships have cooled over the past few years”, Torossian told Express.co.uk.

“Meghan herself indirectly highlighted this recently when she gifted a limited batch of her American Riviera Orchard Jams. It’s unclear whether some of her previously close public friends, like Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry, and the Clooneys, received one of the 50 jars—and if they did, none of them chose to share publicly.

“Either situation, the lack of public support or the lack of gifting, would speak to the cooling of these relationships and the shrinking of her Hollywood circle.”

Examples of A-list celebrities distancing themselves from the Sussexes can be found among countless of their past friends.

In 2023, Harry and Meghan were notably absent at Oprah’s star-studded 69th birthday bash, with one royal expert claiming that the “tide has turned”.

The party guests included many Hollywood A-listers like the Kardashians, Jennifer Lopez and Sharon Stone, and while many were hoping the Sussexes would attend, they were nowhere to be seen. It is still unclear whether they were invited or if perhaps they simply were too busy.

“The ongoing media scrutiny and public controversies surrounding Harry and Meghan makes associating with them less appealing for some celebrities”, Torossian explained.

“Additionally, some may want to avoid any potential fallout with the reigning British Royal Family”, he added.

“It’s not necessarily about Harry or Meghan themselves, but rather the complex and polarizing controversies that continue to follow them despite their attempts to step back from public life.”

Since distancing themselves form the Royal Family, the Sussexes have dropped multiple bombshells which have attracted contrvoersies, from Prince Harry’s explosive memoir to the couple’s tell-all Netflix docuseries.
