In an unexpected twist, as Queen Camilla approaches her 77th birthday, it follows the late Queen Elizabeth’s wish for her son’s brother to be addressed as such when the time came for her to step down. Camilla officially became King Charles’s consort in September 2022, resulting in the princess inheriting the title of the Duchess of Cornwall.

It’s worth noting that before Catherine, Camilla held the title of Princess of Wales. Although legally entitled to this title, it was agreed upon during Charles and Camilla’s marriage in April 2005 that she would use HRH Duchess of Cornwall instead.
