Prince Harry Reportedly Has Only One Condition to End the Royal Family Feud

He’s ready to put his “swords down.”

Earlier this year, it seemed that Prince Harry and King Charles were making some headway in their relationship. However, insiders are now saying that the father-son duo are no longer speaking as Charles is fielding Harry’s phone calls. Harry wants to make amends, but there is one stipulation—and it’s an issue he’s been trying to remedy for years.

Sources told People that Prince Harry would put his “swords down,” if he could receive proper security for him and his family. While some insiders claim that Harry has lost his family’s trust with all of his public interviews and memoir, those close to the former royal argue that if he was given security, he wouldn’t need to publicize the family drama for money.

One friend told the outlet that nothing “would give [Harry] more happiness than being able to rekindle his bond with his father. At the end of the day, you can’t undo bloodlines.”

“He’s not asking his dad for a nicer house or nicer cars,” they continued. “He’s asking because of the reality of the situation. He is at risk.”

Harry has been advocating for protection for years and has even taken the matter to court, though, earlier this year he was denied the bid for taxpayer-funded security. He even offered to pay for it himself, though, that idea was also rejected. Harry was hoping his father would intervene and provide Harry’s family with security, however, he has gotten “complete silence” from his father, per People.

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, left their roles as working royals in 2020 and a friend of the couple said they felt that “didn’t feel they had a choice.”

“The only option was to leave—for their sanity,” the source said. “I do think they thought if they got out of this bubble, there would be less focus on them.”

Them leaving the family was reportedly “not part of” Charles’s “plan,” one source added. The king is now allegedly afraid of history repeating itself and Harry overshadowing the family, much like his mother Princess Diana did.

“Charles’s fear is a repeat of the past,” the insider told the publication. “When his wife divorced the institution, she took the headlines, overshadowed his work, and became a global superstar.
