Prince Harry and Meghan Markle UK return hopes dashed as expert pinpoints key reason

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may never return to the UK due to one major factor, a royal expert has said.

Hopes for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s UK return have been dashed, with a Royal Family expert pinpointing one key reason.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly have fears of bringing their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to the UK while they don’t have their security.

Harry has been fighting for taxpayer-funded security when he visits the UK for several months – despite no longer being a working royal.

GB News’s royal correspondent Cameron Walker said: “He doesn’t feel his family is safe when they’re in the UK because they do not have police protection officers with the Metropolitan Police with him.

“So perhaps that is the main reason why Prince Harry isn’t bringing Meghan and Archie and Lilibet over to the UK because he can’t guarantee, he would say he can’t guarantee their safety.”

It was ruled by the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) in February 2020 that the Duke of Sussex should receive a different level of security from the rest of the Royal Family.

Although Harry protested against the outcome, earlier this year High Court judge Sir Peter Lane ruled that Ravec’s decision was “not irrational” and would stand.

Earlier this month however news broke that the Duke of Sussex will now be able to appeal this ruling, in spite of the huge amount of money it has already cost him and the British taxpayer.

This comes as Princess Anne was forced to cancel her Canada visit after she was kicked by a horse on her Gloucestershire estate.

The Princess Royal was due to make the trip tomorrow to mark the 100th anniversary of the National War Memorial in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

However, following her concussion and minor injuries, she was hospitalised in Bristol for five nights and has since returned home.
