Violet von Westenholz is one of the Duke of Sussex’s childhood friends.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have ended their friendship with one of their closest friends after Violet von Westenholz hasn’t been spotted around the couple despite being the one who set them up in 2016.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have regularly spoken about how they met, with the son of King Charles III being drawn to the ex-Suits actresses’ “angelic face”, and since then their relationship took off like a rocket.

“I’d never seen anyone so beautiful,” Harry said in his 2023 memoir, also noting Meghan’s wild joy. “I sent Violet a message, ‘Who…is…this…woman?'”

A marriage came in 2018 before two children and a decision to relocate to California to make it their own way followed as they stood down as working members of the family in 2020.

“There was an energy about her, a wild joy and playfulness,” Harry added of his wife. “There was something in the way she smiled, the way she interacted with Violet, the way she gazed into the camera.

“Confident. Free. She believed life was one grand adventure, I could see that. What a privilege it would be, I thought, to join her on that journey.”

Since then they have generally achieved the privacy that they were looking for yet that privacy also seems to have excluded Von Westenholz.

The socialite hasn’t spoken about them since 2018 nor vice versa, and it could be connected to Meghan and Harry’s split from the British Royal Family.

Why may Violet not be close to Prince Harry or Meghan anymore?

The Von Westenholzs are headed by the baron, Piers von Westenholz, with Violet being the middle child of their marriage and she spent a lot of time around the Royal Family throughout her youth which is how she met the Duke.

But since the 40-year-old became estranged from his father, and Prince William, the Von Westenholz have remained close to King Charles and Buckingham Palace meaning that Violet may have distanced herself for the good of her own family’s status and interests.

A big hint towards that could come from the fact that Camilla, Queen Consort, made Violet’s mother a ‘Queen’s Companion’ in 2022 which is a high honor and means she can accompany her to official occasions or even represent her.

The Companions are personally chosen by the Queen, or Queen Consort, and usually have tied dating back decades to build trust.
