Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s key aide, Josh Kettler, has left his role after three months working for the royal duo.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have downplayed their chief of staff leaving his position after three months as the couple gave a two-word explanation.

Josh Kettler, a seasoned public relations expert, shockingly quit after a quarter of a year in the job.

He started his role with the Duke of Sussex just before his and Meghan Markle’s three-day trip to Nigeria in May. He was also seen with Harry at St Paul’s Cathedral on his last trip to London when he attended a 10th-anniversary service for his Invictus Games.

People Magazine understands both sides agreed the job was not the right fit, calling the parting of ways a “mutual decision”.

Mr Kettler was based in Santa Barbara, near to the Sussexes’ Montecito home. He was previously chief of staff and head of strategic partnerships at the communication platform Cognixion.

News of his departure comes ahead of Harry and Meghan’s upcoming tour to Colombia. The couple received an invitation to visit the South American nation from the country’s Vice President Francia Marquez. They will head there later this summer.
