Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been dealt a fresh new blow regarding their declining popularity.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s names are on the move in the popularity rankings – with a decline in their power and popularity aspects.
The couple, also known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, but appear to still hold major “enormous power” as a pairing.
However, a new ranking – which analyses members of the Royal Family – said that the pair as individuals have declining power and popularity.
With the Princess of Wales’s recent return to duty, The Daily Beast’s Royal Power List shows that her and Prince William’s popularity is still on the rise – with the same not being said for Meghan and Harry.
According to the publication, Harry’s popularity stands at 34 percent, with Meghan’s falling behind her husband at 26 percent.
Prince William appears to have a popularity ranking of 67 percent – and 97 percent for ‘fame’. Showing higher than her husband for popularity, Princess Kate – who was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year – stands at 71 percent.
Kate’s ‘fame’ ranking currently stands at 95 percent – two percent lower than William.
Although their popularity deems lower than Kate and William, the publication declares the Sussexes as “more outrageous” and “interesting” than the senior royals.
Harry’s ‘fame’ stands at 100 percent, with Meghan’s coming in not too far behind at 94 percent. Meghan and Harry announced their plans to step down as senior working royals in January 2020, with the pair soon moving to begin a new life in the US.
The couple appeared for their final royal engagement in March 2020, shortly before the Covid pandemic erupted. Meghan and Harry, at the time parents to their less-than-a-year-old Prince Archie, settled into life in California in 2020.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who are now also parents to a daughter named Lilibet – have launched various attacks on the Royal Family since stepping down.
The couple have spoken out on their own experiences within the Firm, including Meghan’s racism accusations at two then-unnamed royals.
Meghan and Harry are now settled in Montecito with their son Archie, five, and daughter Lilibet, three. Since turning their backs on a life in the royal fold, the pair have been able to secure commercial deals to become financially independent.
The latest is the unveiling of Meghan Markle’s American Riviera Orchard brand, in which exclusive jars of jam were sent to celebrity influencers to show off on their platforms. The recent installation has included a set of dog biscuits.
