Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have found themselves at the centre of more criticism over discrepancies between two major interviews. The couple have been accused of “trying to rewrite history” after they were caught contradicting themselves.

Earlier this week, the couple’s engagement interview in 2017 was at the centre of discussions after the journalist who conducted it, BBC presenter Mishal Husain, hit back at Meghan’s claims that it was an “orchestrated reality show”.

During their Netflix docuseries, the Duchess of Sussex alleged that the interview was “rehearsed” and described the chat as a “reality show” and Ms Husain as “not empathetic enough and not warm enough”.

Now the Mail’s Richard Eden hit back at the couple after the BBC journalist said she “didn’t know what to make of” Meghan’s comments at first. She claimed they contradicted themselves as they first revealed during that interview that they met on a blind date but during their Netflix show, they claimed they met on Instagram.

He told Palace Confidential: “They [Harry and Meghan] really are [trying to rewrite history], I think Meghan is trying to rewrite history. There’s one version that was out at the time, and she’s trying to say ‘no, that’s not what happened at all’. And now, this is Mishal Husain saying ‘oh wait a minute, don’t just try to rewrite history like that.'”
