Stephen Amell’s wish to play Josh Brolin’s Thanos may not be a dream gone down the drain.
Stephen Amell’s performance within the Arrowverse is one that is regarded by many to be a fan favorite. He is much loved because of the same. However, post its success, there were certain controversies he found himself in the midst of. Overcoming it all, the actor still stands strong in the Hollywood industry. A legacy of the same was created upon Arrow’s end.

Ever since then, the actor hasn’t been seen in a significant superhero role. While fans want to see him once again as Oliver Queen in James Gunn’s DC Universe, that outcome is not one that can come to fruition any time soon. That is not to say that a possible entry to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is also out of the picture. In fact, it was Amell who proposed his interest in the same.
Stephen Amell Eyed Josh Brolin’s Variant
During the Fan Expo Boston, while Arrow was nearing its end, Stephen Amell was asked by fans about which Marvel he would be the most open to playing. While fans would expect him to say some of the most notorious heroes, even those who weren’t part of the MCU back then, his answer was not one fans had seen coming.

Upon being asked the same, Amell answered in the most deadpanned, serious expression possible, that his interest lies in playing Thanos. While the audience found themselves laughing at the answer, thinking that it was made out of pure jest. That was not the case.
The actor elaborated on the fact that he was more than serious about wanting to play Thanos in the MCU. Not another hero, but the most iconic villain that changed the franchise forevermore.
Stephen Amell’s Dreams Can Come True
Marvel is not one to shy away from experimentation. Everything is a game of trial and error. Such was the case with John Krasinski’s Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Whether or not that idea pans out is for a later time. Seeing that the Multiverse is being explored in the current phase of the franchise, variants aren’t anything but a common sight.
Stephen Amell as Green Arrow
With the addition of Avengers: Secret Wars, such a possibility, one flooded with variants, is more than likely. One such variant can also be that of Josh Brolin’s Thanos. While fans have already seen a variant of the supervillain in Avengers: Endgame, one with another actor is not out of pocket.
Stephen Amell’s dream to become Thanos can be fulfilled through the film, letting him become Thanos and taking over the role that mayhaps has too big of shoes to fill.
