Pedro Pascal has opened up about playing Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four. After months of rumors regarding who would lead the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, the cast for Marvel’s The Fantastic Four has finally been revealed. Pascal will get to play Reed Richards, with John Krasinski’s variant of the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness not translating into him playing the MCU’s main Mr. Fantastic.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Pascal revealed how excited he is to join Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four.
The actor commented on the MCU movie’s star-studded ensemble and how they want to do their best “and share it with the world.” Pascal made how thrilled he is to be playing Reed Richards apparent, which is great news for the MCU, as the character should play a major role in upcoming MCU movies. Check out the full quote below:
“I can tell you how excited I am which is beyond! There isn’t anything more exciting than being in a cast like that, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joe Quinn and our director Matt Shakman.
To be invited to a family like that is unbelievable, and we all just want to do our best and share it with the world.”
What To Expect From Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four
The MCU Movie Was Delayed
Pascal is currently one of the most popular actors in Hollywood. The star is a great choice to play Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four. Pascal has plenty of experience with huge franchises, becoming the new face of Star Wars as he helped revitalize the sci-fi saga through Disney+’s The Mandalorian. Recently, his turn as grizzled survivor Joel Miller in the acclaimed The Last of Us cemented his status as a strong leading man, and his past role in Game of Thrones set this all up.
Pascal’s roles show that the actor is skilled at bringing exciting fights to life on the screen while also being gifted in the acting department. The Fantastic Four star can excel in both comedic and dramatic roles, which should make the MCU’s Reed Richards a dynamic character. Mr. Fantastic is one of the smartest man in Marvel Comics, and that will likely translate to the MCU.
Another aspect of Reed Richards from the comics might also play a role in how the character will be depicted in the MCU, with Reed and Sue Storm rumored to be parents in The Fantastic Four. If that turns out to be true, Pascal’s casting as Reed would make even more sense. In The Mandalorian and The Last of Us, Pascal made a name for himself playing strong father figures, which guarantees that he would make Reed one of the MCU’s best fathers. While The Fantastic Four’s cast has been revealed, details about the movie’s plot remain under wraps.
