Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac is imagined as the live-action version of his Spider-Verse character, Spider-Man 2099, in beautiful MCU fan art.
Oscar Isaac trades in his Moon Knight costume to become the live-action Spider-Man 2099 in gorgeous Marvel Cinematic Universe fan art. While the MCU has tapped many actors for the franchise, some of them have gone on to play dual superhero and villain roles in other franchises. In the case of Isaac, while he may be known for his many characters in the Moon Knight TV show, the Star Wars alum is also the voice of Miguel O’Hara, a.k.a. Spider-Man 2099, in the Spider-Verse movies, including Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
With Isaac set to return for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse as Spider-Man 2099 once again, some MCU fans have always imagined if he played the live-action version of Miguel. MacLitStudios and d_epicedits recently did a collaboration where Isaac got imagined as Spider-Man 2099 in live-action as a hypothetical Marvel Studios movie.
The MCU Spider-Man 2099 artwork features Isaac both with and without the mask, giving fans a complete idea of how he would look in the costume. The fan art also features Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man showing up right behind him through a multiverse portal, likely as part of Spider-Man 2099’s Spider-Society team.
What Is Going On With Oscar Isaac In The MCU?
While the Spider-Verse audience will be able to see Isaac as Spider-Man 2099 again in the near future, there is less clarity about his MCU gig. Despite being one of the big new characters introduced to the MCU in Phase 4, Isaac has yet to come back in any other film or series since the end of Moon Knight. Despite ending on a cliffhanger that sets up Moon Knight stories, Marvel Studios has yet to solidify if those arcs will be explored.
It is possible that Moon Knight season 2 is still being considered, given that the show is coming out on Blu-Ray and DVD, specifically labeled as season 1. However, there could also be the chance that Marvel Studios is looking to put Moon Knight somewhere else in the future of the MCU, potentially through a Midnight Suns movie or TV show, given how many supernatural and mythical characters exist in the franchise at this point. But for the time being, there are no official plans known to the public about where Isaac may show up next as Moon Knight.
Given Isaac’s caliber as an actor and his popularity, it would be shocking if Marvel Studios didn’t do something more with him as Moon Knight in some capacity. Losing him would be a major waste, especially as Moon Knight has the potential to grow into a really complex character for the MCU. For now, time will tell if the fans will ever see Isaac as Moon Knight again in the MCU either on the small or big screen.
