Fortnite will finally feature fan-favorite variants of Loki.
Fortnite is still the talk of the town especially when the official page of the game casually teases a new collaboration with Marvel Studios’ Loki. The Disney+ series left a massive void and the live service game will fill in the hole with new content related to the successful show.
The page posted a massive image of Miss Minutes, a sinister yet endearing character from the series, and teased more will follow. Perhaps the in-game item shop will be refreshed with a fresh batch of cosmetic items like skins featuring iconic variants of the God of Mischief.
Loki and Miss Minutes Are Coming to Fortnite
The character was initially introduced as a villain then later turned into an anti-hero, and his recent iteration has made him a full-blown hero across space and time. It is only apt for the former God of Mischief, now genuine God to be added to the live service game along with his companions and alternate versions beyond the multiverse.
While there are no official images or list of characters, one can only expect that the game will feature a plethora of different skins for purchase. The series has capitalized on the idea of alternate realities cascading at an unprecedented rate, and there is a high probability that the game will tap into that aspect.
Unlike other game developers like Insomniac Games who pulled the plug on Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Great Web and would have ties to the larger multiverse. This game could tackle the idea without venturing into uncharted territory and integrate details into the gameplay mechanics.
Fortnite Is About to Enter the Multiverse Through Loki
The world of Fortnite is at risk of being pruned from the Sacred Timeline
It is unknown whether this collaboration will feature an event or it could simply add new cosmetic items for the in-game item shop, regardless, fans who are also players will most likely purchase these skins the moment they drop. The popularity of the show will most definitely draw more attention to the multiplayer game and players will immediately flex their newest skins in matches.
It wasn’t long ago when Epic Games and Marvel teased another collaboration featuring characters from X-Men ’97. The show was a hit and to quote the talking clock, only time will tell when these characters will appear. It was a matter of when and not if, Epic Games could not help themselves from featuring well-known characters in the game.
This is a strategic business move that benefits all parties involved. As soon as the series ends, the fans will be looking for alternatives that will quench their thirst before the next outing of their favorite characters and Epic Games will allow them to play as their heroes in their most successful live service game.
Regardless of what may come, it is about time for Marvel Studios’ Loki to finally get the collaboration it deserves with Fortnite. Which variants would you like to see be made available in the item shop? Let us know in the comments section below!
