Giancarlo Esposito plays coy about who he is supposedly playing in Captain America: Brave New World after the movie’s trailer teased the character he is set to appear as in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2025. Following the ending of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier TV show, Sam Wilson’s time as Captain America is getting a bigger spotlight, this time headlining his own movie in the MCU timeline. Captain America: Brave New World will explore Sam as the titular hero, having fully taken over after Steve Rogers’ retirement.

The character I’m playing is a badass. That always excites me. For me to develop that character in line with the character’s inception is a fascinating art for me.
