Billboard has recently revealed its list featuring the ten hottest female rappers of this year. Various artists have managed to grab various positions in the list and the names have been chosen based on their spots on top of the charts, tour success, and other achievements.
The top spot was taken by GloRilla, who has been delivering several hit projects for a long time. Notably, two of her singles, Cha Cha and Pop It, did not receive a positive response as per expectations.
Cardi B took the 10th spot after Rapsody in the ninth. Doja Cat’s name also featured among all ten in the seventh position alongside others, including Latto, and Sexyy Red. After GloRilla, there was Megan Thee Stallion in the second, and two more spots were acquired by Doechii and JT (6th and 8th respectively) in the Billboard list.
Meanwhile, netizens took to the comments section of an Instagram post shared by The Neighborhood Talk to react to the selections of Billboard. The post featured the names of all the artists who made it to the list and one of the users reacted by referring to Nicki Minaj, who was in the third, and wrote:
“But Nicki outsold the whole list lol how she number 3 most sold this year from a album from last year.”
Similar responses continued below the post, with a user saying that Nicki deserved the third position. People seemingly addressed their satisfaction with the selections as a few stated that GloRilla had a successful year. One of them said that Latto should have been in a better spot on the list.
A user expressed dissatisfaction with Megan Thee Stallion being put in the second position in the Billboard list, adding that two of her albums were not successful and she did not get nominated multiple times in 2024.

GloRilla expresses her happiness on reaching the first spot on the Billboard list
As mentioned, the 25-year-old has reached the top spot among the selections of Billboard for the ten hottest female rappers of this year. The news comes around two months after the release of her first album, Glorious, which created different records in terms of its sales and streaming numbers.
Meanwhile, GloRilla shared a post through her official account on X (formerly Twitter) on December 5, 2024, to celebrate the victory. She reposted a tweet by Chart Data, which included all the ten names, and wrote:
“Ayyeee s/o to all da women on da list!!! We dem.”
Additionally, Sexyy Red, Megan Thee Stallion, and Latto were a part of GloRilla’s album, Glorious. In an interview with Billboard this year, GloRilla said that the album was supposed to arrive last year but she was “getting used to stuff and working a lot.” She said that the project was complete by this year and added:
“I was like, ‘OK, I gotta give them the mixtape before I give them the album’ because I went the whole year without dropping anything. That’s why I said I was gonna give them the mixtape first, get ’em back used to me first, give ’em a feel of me, and then that’s gonna prep me for the album.”
Apart from her debut album, GloRilla also released a single titled Yeah Glo! this year and also opened for Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer Tour, which ended in September 2024.
