New footage from Deadpool & Wolverine gives fans a great look at one of the Deadpool variants who will appear in the only Marvel Cinematic Universe movie set to release this year. While Ryan Reynolds has been confirmed to play at least one other version of Deadpool in the MCU movie, Deadpool & Wolverine‘s star-studded cast will include other actors playing versions of the Merc With a Mouth, and an unconventional one is the star of new footage.

On Twitter, @bestfriends (via @DeadpoolUpdate) shared a new look at Dogpool in Deadpool & Wolverine.

The footage sees Dogpool running towards the arms of Reynolds’ Deadpool, who is instantly in love with the dog. From the way Deadpool and Wolverine react to the character, it seems like the scene might be from the duo’s first meeting with Dogpool in the Void. Given Deadpool & Wolverine‘s multiversal story, more variants of both characters will play a role in the film.

Multiple Deadpool Variants Have Been Revealed

Before the first trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine was released, Hugh Jackman teased that he had a dual role in the MCU movie, which could lead to the actor playing a couple of versions of Wolverine. Deadpool & Wolverine‘s trailers have also teased the arrival of the “Patch” variant of Logan, which wears a white tuxedo and an eyepatch. Fan-favorite actor for the MCU’s Wolverine, Daniel Radcliffe, is rumored to play Patch, though there has been no confirmation of it.

As for Deadpool variants, the situation is different. That is because Dogpool was already confirmed by Deadpool & Wolverine‘s trailers, while many other versions of the character have either been revealed or teased in different ways. Also, in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailers there are teases of a character who should be Lady Deadpool. The variant was previously rumored to be played by superstar Taylor Swift, who has since been confirmed to not be in the film.

Deadpool & Wolverine merch has revealed that Headpool, Kidpool, and Babypool are going to appear in the movie. Deadpool & Wolverine set photos and videos also revealed that at least one of the Deadpool variants would be played by Reynolds, as the actor filmed scenes as a samurai version of Wade Wilson. With a major multiverse story that includes characters from Fox’s X-Men movies appearing, there should be quite a few variants for both main heroes in Deadpool & Wolverine.
