Ms. Marvel Star Confidently Talks About Her Anticipated MCU Comeback Post The Marvels

Following her first appearance in the MCU movies, Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani gives a positive update on her return after The Marvels film.

Iman Vellani, who plays Ms. Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, teases her return to the franchise after The Marvels. One of the most beloved new characters in the MCU throughout The Multiverse Saga is Kamala Khan, a.k.a. Ms. Marvel, who starred in her own TV show during Phase 4. Played by Vellani, the young actress made her jump to the big screen in 2023 in The Marvels, working alongside Captain Marvel and Photon.

While The Marvels movie may not have performed well at the box office, Kamala’s adventures in the MCU timeline are far from over. In a new interview with Polygon. Vellani stressed she has been assured by Marvel Studios that she will be back, stating the following:

I have been assured. So that feels good, but there was no more assurance than that. [laugh] They give me breadcrumbs, and I try and make a meal out of it.

Where Ms. Marvel Could Show Up Next In The MCU

The ending of The Marvels paved the way for several interesting directions for Kamala in the MCU. The natural option would be Ms. Marvel season 2, allowing Kamala to continue balancing being a superhero while also living her teenage life. However, as of right now, Disney+ and Marvel Studios have not greenlit Ms. Marvel for another season, nor have they stated if the show has been canceled.

If Ms. Marvel season 2 doesn’t go forward, The Marvels did begin establishing the long-awaited Young Avengers concept in the MCU, which could instead be Kamala’s path forward. Bringing the other Young Avengers characters together for a movie or TV show – with Ms. Marvel recruiting other young superheroes to bulk out the roster – would be a way to show what she learned from the events of The Marvels. With other Young Avengers members now existing in the MCU, the time might finally be here to see them all come together.

All that said, it wouldn’t be shocking if Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars were where Ms. Marvel shows up next. As the franchise gets to the end of The Multiverse Saga, the young hero may be one of many heroes that will be brought into the fold as Marvel’s protaganists deal with the safety of the multiverse. But hopefully, after her journey in The Marvels, the MCU audience will see Ms. Marvel sooner rather than later.
