MCU costume designer Meghan Kasperlik addresses theories about Moon Knight season 2 potentially happening after major Blu-Ray theory.
Costume designer Meghan Kasperlik opens up on the Moon Knight season 2 possibilities, following a big Marvel Cinematic Universe fan theory. Oscar Isaac finally joined the MCU as part of The Multiverse Saga in Phase 4, taking on the iconic role of Moon Knight, one of the more complex heroes from Marvel Comics. Ever since the Moon Knight ending in 2022, there has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not another season may be happening on Disney+.
In an exclusive interview, while promoting the upcoming Blu-Ray steelbooks for Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight,Andor, and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Kasperlik, who worked on Isaac’s MCU drama as the costume designer, was asked if she has heard anything about a potential Moon Knight season 2. With the marketing labeling it Moon Knight: The Complete First Season, it caused a lot of MCU fans to theorize that another season is on its way, as Kasperlik shared the following:
Q: The fans did get curious when the news came out about the Blu-Ray for “Moon Knight: The Complete First Season,” so I have to ask you, have you heard about a potential second season at all?
Meghan Kasperlik: No, people have been asking me and maybe that’s why, because of “The Complete First Season” of the Blu-Ray, but no, I’ve heard nothing. I’ve heard nothing about it.
Are there any other looks that you want to adapt from the Moon Knight comics after having worked on it?
Meghan Kasperlik: I think it all depends on what the story would be. Because so many times when shows say that they’re only doing one season or whatnot, then they come back, something about the story changes so much or a new character is incorporated that is not maybe necessarily thought of. Listen, if they do a season 2, I am on board. I loved it so much, but I haven’t gotten any phone calls.
Will Marvel Studios Make Moon Knight Season 2?
Where Else Oscar Isaac’s Marvel Hero Could Appear If Not
While Moon Knight season 1 had its success, Marvel Studios have been oddly quiet about the future of Isaac’s superhero in the MCU. It is possible that while they are considering making Moon Knight season 2, it could be a bigger decision for Disney’s Bob Iger, who is currently focusing on quality over quantity, which was a big problem at the start of The Multiverse Saga. Given the state of the MCU’s behind-the-scenes shake-ups in the last year, including the impact of the Hollywood 2023 strikes, Moon Knight season 2 may not be a big priority for the time being.
However, even if Moon Knight season 2 doesn’t happen, the MCU could still use Isaac’s characters in other projects. One of the more natural directions for Moon Knight would be for him to be part of a Midnight Sun movie or TV show, which Isaac has commented himself about wanting to be part of if he comes back to the MCU. This would finally allow the MCU to put the supernatural players in a bigger spotlight and let Moon Knight connect with some of the franchise’s most intriguing characters.
With a major star like Isaac, it would be shocking if the MCU doesn’t bring him back in the near future, especially as there are a lot more stories to tell with Moon Knight. If Moon Knight season 2 doesn’t happen in The Multiverse Saga, it is possible the show could lose more of its momentum if they were considering it for Phase 7. But for now, time will tell when the MCU will get to see Moon Knight again, whether it is on his own show or somewhere else.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier , Moon Knight , Andor , and Obi-Wan Kenobi will release on 4K UHD and Blu-ray steelbook 4/30.
