An attempt to clear the air between Prince William and Meghan Markle quickly became heated, according to Prince Harry.
It was initially hoped when Meghan Markle married Prince Harry she would be a breath of fresh air for the royals, as alongside Prince William and Princess Kate they were quickly dubbed the Fab Four.
However their relationship soon turned sour, with Harry detailing his fallout with the Firm explicitly in his memoir Spare, much to the chagrin of his older brother.
Author Robert Jobson has been exploring the Wales-Sussex feud in his new book ‘Catherine, The Princess of Wales: The Biography’, which is being serialised in the Mail on Sunday.
Mr Jobson discussed one incident in particular when William accused Meghan of being “rude” for talking about Kate’s hormones after the birth of Prince Louis.
Their confrontation escalated, leading Meghan to hit back at William with this seven-word statement: “Take your finger out of my face.”
In Spare Harry delves into great detail as he describes the different tense encounters he and Meghan had with Kate and William, which seemed to worsen after their wedding in 2018.
Kate and Meghan have never been close, but things came to a head during a row about Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress for Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
The Duchess was reportedly left in tears over the fight, although Kate later sent flowers to apologise and Meghan appeared to accept this gesture.
The couples have never really patched things up
Following Harry and Meghan’s honeymoon the two couples met up in an attempt to clear the air, as Kate wanted Meghan to apologise for remarking that she had “baby brain”.
According to the Duke of Sussex Kate gripped a leather sofa so tightly her “fingers went white”, showcasing the underlying tension in the room.
Meghan reportedly apologised and explained that is how she speaks to her friends, but the encounter took a turn when Harry claims William “pointed a finger at Meg”, then allegedly blasted: “Well, it’s rude, Meghan. These things are not done here.” To which Meghan responded: “If you don’t mind, keep your finger out of my face.”
Kate and Meghan have never been good friends
Relations between Kate and Meghan seem to be at an all time low, but in the wake of her cancer diagnosis one source believes Meghan is ready to make peace.
The insider told In Touch magazine: “She [Meghan] wants to make peace with Kate. She doesn’t want any bad blood between them.
“Meghan’s friends say she regrets how things went down and she never meant any harm to Kate. Though she must realise she could’ve done things differently.
