Thomas Markle, the 79-year-old father of Meghan Markle, opened up about his life these days and shared his thoughts on how his daughter and Prince Harry are raising their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Meghan’s father spoke with DailyMail.com about Archie and Lilibet, whom he has never met, saying that he has “deep empathy” for King Charles III for their shared situation of being separated from their grandchildren.

Remarking on the Trooping the Colour event and seeing Prince WilliamPrincess Kate and their three kids, Prince GeorgePrincess Charlotte and Prince Louis, Thomas said, “It struck me as very sad that Meghan and Harry’s kids are being denied the right to know their cousins, who look like fantastic children. The relationship between cousins is a special one. There’s a unique bond.”

He added that he was sad Archie and Lilibet “don’t have the chance to get to know their cousins and take part in things like Trooping The Colour, which is their birthright.”

Thomas went on, claiming that the kids might start asking questions as they get older about “why they have cut them off from both sides of the family?”

Meghan’s father boldly stated: “The decisions Meghan and Harry have made will affect their kids for the rest of their lives. I find myself wondering how Archie and Lilibet will feel in a few years time when they realise all the things they have missed out on.”

Since stepping back from their role as royals, Harry and Meghan have remained quite private, especially when it comes to their children together. Lately, Meghan and her new company, American Riviera Orchard, have been expanding, while Harry continues to work with various charities and on other projects, with the Invictus Games still a big focus.
