Harry and Meghan Will Return to the UK For Court, But Not For Christmas | Vanity Fair

Meghan Markle has reportedly presented a key condition that must be met for her to return to England with Prince Harry, according to a royal expert. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down from their royal duties and moved to California in 2020, have rarely visited the UK since then.

Markle, last seen in the UK during the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022, has stipulated that she would only return if provided with a secure place to live, separate from Harry’s relatives.

The couple’s request for secure residency follows their eviction from Frogmore Cottage, their former UK home, in June. With no current place of residence in Britain, Quinn suggested that finding a permanent home and addressing security concerns are necessary steps for the couple to consider bringing their children, Archie and Lilibet, to the UK. However, Quinn noted, “It’s going to take a lot of diplomacy to get to the point where Archie and Lili are able to develop a genuine and warm relationship with their cousins George, Charlotte, and Louis.”

Prince Harry recently won the right to appeal a High Court decision regarding his family’s security in the UK. The court had previously ruled that their current security arrangements were adequate, but Harry challenged this decision. Since stepping down from royal duties, the couple has been stripped of their taxpayer-funded police protection, making security a critical issue for any future visits to the UK.
