Meghan Markle issued a statement after her appearance at a pre-Thanksgiving event last week, and she did so without her husband, Prince Harry, The Post reported.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly in the midst of a professional separation, with reports suggesting that their working relationship is “in a very bad way”.
In fact, in recent months both the 43-year-old “Suits” alum and Prince Harry, 40, have been seen attending several events solo.
Meghan Markle’s busy schedule and foundation, without Harry
Markle recently hosted an intimate dinner for the Project Angel Food through the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell Foundation.
Since then, the former actress shared a statement on her Archewell website after the Thanksgiving event, in which she spoke about the “heartfelt dinner” she hosted for Afghan women with her partner organisation, Mina’s List.
“This initiative has spent the past year building community through storytelling and creating a safe space for women who have resettled in the United States from Afghanistan,” the statement read. “The evening included a shared meal that fostered open conversation focused on gratitude and resilience.”
Markle expressed her deep gratitude to those in attendance for sharing their personal stories and cultural experiences, adding that she plans to host future gatherings.
“The dinner was held at Our Place, founded by Shiza Shahid, where attendees were given new cookware for the upcoming holiday season,” Markle explained in the statement.
The Duchess “remains committed to uplifting women and fostering community through shared experiences, reinforcing the importance of unity and support in challenging times,” it concluded.
Harry prepares for the next Invictus Games
All of this comes as Prince Harry was attending a series of events related to the Invictus Games in Vancouver last week, while Markle was seen at a meeting with several of her celebrity friends, at a beauty launch event without her husband.
Despite everything, the couple came together to appear in a video in honor of Veterans Day earlier this month, and Harry admitted that the couple had been “at a crossroads” with work in recent weeks.
In the video, the couple spoke about how to prioritize children’s safety online through their Archewell Foundation. It was the first time they had been seen together in months.
The Duke and Duchess are expected to attend the Invictus Games 2025 in Canada, which will take place from February 8 to 16. The event comes 18 months after the 2023 competition held in Germany.
At last year’s games, Markle hinted that her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, might appear at the next tournament.
