Meghan Markle leaves friends ‘hurt’ before launching into ‘damage control’

The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly conducting “damage control” after tarnishing relationships with her former US co-stars.

Meghan Markle has reportedly “hurt” the feelings of her Hollywood friends after “distancing” herself from fellow Suits cast members during her relationship with Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex formerly played paralegal Rachel Zane, one of the lead characters in the hit drama series based around a New York City law firm.

Meghan left the series and stepped back from her acting career following her engagement to Prince Harry as it was expected she would take a lead role in royal duties.

According to one source, Meghan reached out to several of her former co-stars to extend the invitation to appear as guests in her new podcast series.

The source suggested Meghan had invited her former co-stars to appear as guests on her new series

Speaking to GB News, the source has revealed that there are a lot of “hurt feelings” between Meghan and her former A-list friends after the Duchess “distanced herself” from other members of the cast.

The source added: “It’s pretty insulting and the feeling is that she ought to be a lot more loyal to her roots.”

The source suggested Meghan “seemed to want to get as far away from [the show] as possible” after her relationship with Prince Harry became more serious.

Her invitation for former friends to appear on her podcast was described as “pretty tone deaf” by the unnamed source, who also suggested the Duchess would need to “do some serious damage control” to have a chance of winning her friends back over.

Archetypes podcast

The Duchess of Sussex has signed a new deal with Lemonade Media

The Duchess previously launched her debut twelve-part podcast series Archetypes with Spotify in 2022.

Despite attracting over ten million downloads, the series was not renewed and her deal with the streaming platform came to an end in 2023.

Earlier this year, Meghan announced she had entered a new partnership with podcast network Lemonada Media.

The deal will include a new original podcast series, as yet untitled, which will be hosted by the Duchess.

Meghan said she was keen to “continue [her] love of podcasting” and hinted plans around the “dynamic” new podcast were already “well in the works”.
