Meghan Markle jealous of Victoria Beckham’s wealth according to new book

Tom Bower’s The House of Beckham claims the Duchess of Sussex was “irritated” at Victoria Beckham’s success

Sussexes vs Beckhams

A new book has slammed the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, as being jealous of Victoria Beckham’s fame and success before accusing her of “deluding” herself into thinking she was more popular than the ex-Spice Girl.

Markle reached fame by starring as Rachel Zane in the hit legal drama Suits, before being catapulted to new heights of publicity when she met and fell in love with Prince Harry, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II.

The pair married and the rest is history. They’ve broken away from their roles as working members of the British Royal Family and are keen to make it on their own in California, although Markle seems to be below her own valuation according to Tom Bower’s The House of Beckham biography.

“In Meghan’s celebrity world, ranking depended on wealth and fame,” Bower writes in the book. “As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the Royal family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order.

“She was irritated to discover that the Beckhams had considerably more wealth than herself. They owned five homes, had constant access to private jets, invitations to sail on yachts and much more money. And she was soon to be a Duchess.”

The book claims that Markle and Beckham were friends through their husbands as the Spice Girl recommended make-up joints and hairdressers in London, the capital city of the United Kingdom.

Markle even wondered if she could get some handbags and clothes from the 50-year-old until blocked by Buckingham Palace and even stayed at their homes on the occasions she wanted to avoid any American paparazzi.

However, when the matriarch of the Beckham family gave her some make-up advice, their relationship soured and Markle later accused them of leaking information to the press whilst Prince Harry began to “snub” David Beckham.

Could Prince William be at play?

Prince Harry and Prince William’s fraternal relationship was always fragile as revealed in the 2023 book Spare, and it has completely deteriorated over the last few years but particularly since Markle entered the royal fold.

After that, the two sons of Princess Diana and King Charles III are no longer on speaking terms and it’s speculated that this could be the true reason why Markle and Harry no longer want to interact with the Beckhams.

David’s attachment and history go back with William and Kate,” Bower adds in the book. “And they have a very strong relationship and they were their choice of wedding guests.

“It was always about them, it was never about Meghan and Harry. They are the people David and Victoria are attached to and it’s always been about them because they’ve had a long history together.”
