Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly been invited to the UK by Kate Middleton and Prince William. But the Duchess of Sussex has refused to bring her family back.

Meghan Markle's downfall: Why the world turned against the Duchess

Meghan Markle has set forth a few non-negotiables before she and Prince Harry will entertain the idea of patching things up with Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton.

Despite efforts by William and Kate to mend fences with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the bond between the Sussexes and the broader Royal Family remains tense after the couple’s high-profile exit from Royal responsibilities.

Royal expert Tom Quinn suggests that while there’s a willingness from William and Kate to make peace, Meghan Markle isn’t ready to bury the hatchet unless her terms are met.

In a chat with the Mirror, Quinn disclosed: “Harry would like a reconciliation, but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the Royal family have been sufficiently nice to her – and grovelingly apologized for the past – it’s not going to happen.”

Since stepping down from their Royal roles, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made several bombshell claims against the monarchy in prominent interviews and their tell-all Netflix series, ‘Harry and Meghan’, reports the Daily Record.

Quinn, a Royal pundit, believes Meghan may be holding Harry back from engaging in peace talks with the Prince and Princess of Wales, thus creating an obstacle that prevents him from offering an “olive branch”, even amidst Kate’s battle with cancer.

Mr Quinn said: “There has been a shift here since Kate’s illness Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan’s sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful happening.

The Royal author claims: “Illness often brings warring family members together, and there have been hopes at Kensington Palace that Kate’s illness might do it. The royal author claims William and Kate have made efforts to repair ties with the Sussexes and have extended an invitation to Meghan and Harry, encouraging them to bring Archie and Lilibet to the UK for a visit – but Meghan has refused.”

He added: “There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK,” adding: “William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”

Tensions have been high between Prince Harry and Meghan and Prince William and Kate since the Sussexes’ tell-all Netflix documentary and bombshell Oprah interview.

Prince Harry also made several claims against his brother and sister-in-law in his memoir, Spare, including alleging that Prince William called Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive” during an argument.

Harry further alleged that, during the row, William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor”.
