On Sunday, Meghan Markle debuted a new friendship with actor and philanthropist Kimberly Williams-Paisley during lunch at Montecito spot Tre Lune. In pictures published by the Daily Mail, the pair were seen leaving the restaurant where Meghan celebrated her 42nd birthday last fall.
Meghan wore jeans by the brand La Ligne and a white button down by Anine Bing, along with a pair of aviator sunglasses. Though the look was casual, she made reference to her royal ties with a gold Cartier watch from Princess Diana’s collection, which Meghan received as a present from Prince Harry, and a Dior Lady D-Lite bag, which was named after the late princess.
Williams-Paisley, the wife of country star Brad Paisley, is best known for her role in the 1991 romantic comedy Father of the Bride. She is a longtime resident of the upscale Santa Barbara community where Meghan and Harry have lived since summer 2020. When the area was hit by wildfires and mudslides in 2018, Paisley explained why he loves the area in a press release announcing a fundraising concert. “Kim and I fell in love with Santa Barbara and the Montecito area on our honeymoon,” he wrote. “It feels like small-town America by the sea.”
Meghan’s last public appearance took place at the ESPYs Awards on July 11, where Harry received the 2024 Pat Tillman Award for service in recognition of his work with the Invictus Games, the competition for wounded service members he co-founded in 2014. After Harry gave a speech, the pair were photographed backstage with their friend, Serena Williams.
