MCU's Fantastic Four cast revealed in Valentine's Day poster

The Fantastic Four has added another actor to its talented ensemble, adding to the number of mystery roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film. After a few uneven Fantastic Four movies graced the silver screen over the years, Marvel will finally get the chance to bring the beloved team to life. Work on the MCU’s The Fantastic Four has been progressing behind the scenes over the past couple of months as filming gets closer, and amid a series of castings, Marvel has found a new star for the Fantastic Four reboot.

According to DeadlineRussian Doll‘s Natasha Lyonne has joined The Fantastic Four‘s cast in yet another mystery role. Previously cast actors Paul Walter-Hauser and John Malkovich also have yet to have their characters revealed, though Walter-Hauser revealed to Screen Rant that his character comes from the comics. Another recent addition to The Fantastic Four’s cast was Ralph Ineson, who plays the movie’s main antagonist, Galactus. While Marvel has yet to reveal who Lyonne will play, there are a few possible choices for the actress.

Who Natasha Lyonne Could Play In The Fantastic Four

There Are Two Exciting Marvel Comics Roles For The Actress

Lyonne always brings incredible energy to every role she is in, and with Marvel having a lot riding on The Fantastic Four‘s success, the actress makes for a fine addition to the film’s cast. Lyonne’s character could be none other than Alicia Masters. In the comics, Alicia is a supporting character of the Fantastic Four who is the girlfriend of Ben Grimm, aka the Thing. She sees the character as his true self. With her sharp wit, Lyonne would make the perfect comedic duo with The Bear‘s Ebon Moss-Bachrach, aka the MCU’s Ben Grimm.

Another Marvel Comics character that Lyonne could play is one that has already been confirmed for the film. When Marvel announced the cast for The Fantastic Four with official concept art, the studio revealed that the robot companion H.E.R.B.I.E. would play a role in the film. Lyonne’s comedic skills would be perfect for the character, and with a voice acting experience that includes roles in The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy and even the superhero film DC League of Super-Pets — as the superpowered turtle Merton — Lyonne could be a creative casting choice for H.E.R.B.I.E.

Finally, there is a chance that Lyonne will end up playing an original character in The Fantastic Four. Marvel Studios has created a few new characters over the time the MCU has been active, and The Fantastic Four‘s star-studded cast could end up including one or two new additions to the team’s canon. With the heroes rumored to come from an alternate universe, that would leave many possible routes to go with the casting. Lyonne’s character could be revealed when The Fantastic Four starts filming in the summer.
