Logan’s Dafne Keen Reacts To Deadpool & Wolverine Trailer Amid X-23 Return Rumors

X-23 actress Dafne Keen chimes in with her thoughts on the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, as she is heavily rumored to be reprising the Marvel hero in the new film. Despite the limited amount of Marvel movies releasing in 2024, Deadpool & Wolverine is eying to be one of the biggest installments for not just the MCU but Marvel’s live-action legacy. With Wade Wilson moving over to the MCU, Deadpool & Wolverine is also revisiting some of the past Marvel properties that were part of 20th Century Fox’s era.

At this year’s CCXP MX event (via Omelete,) the Logan actress chatted a little about the new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer. While Keen did not address whether or not she is returning as X-23 in the Phase 5 installment, check out her (translated) comments below about the trailer.

I mean, I’m very excited to watch it. The trailer is incredible — we all agree that the trailer is incredible? I love Ryan Reynolds, I love Hugh Jackman, obviously, he is like my second father, like my fake dad. Matthew Macfadyen, Emma Corrin, it is insane, I am very excited to watch it.

Why Deadpool & Wolverine Should Feature X-23

While time will tell if Laura ends up being part of the Deadpool & Wolverine cast, Keen would be one of the more appreciated cameos for the Deadpool threequel. To begin with, X-23 was one of the most well-received aspects of the Logan movie, which made it more frustrating that she arrived only at the end of the franchise. However, many have been wanting to see Keen’s X-23 return in one way or another, especially as the actress has grown up since she wasn’t even a teenager when she portrayed the Marvel icon.

From a story perspective, having Laura getting to reunite with a Wolverine variant and perhaps get a chance at a father/daughter dynamic that she never got with her version would definitely pull some heartstrings. Another possibility to consider, given the multiverse aspect, is if Deadpool & Wolverine introduces the MCU’s main version of X-23, which happens to be played by Keen. This could also serve as a setup for the MCU’s X-Men reboot, and have her play a pivotal role in the franchise going forward.

While she obviously couldn’t give a definitive yes right now, it wouldn’t come as a shock if Keen is actually in Deadpool & Wolverine and is simply having to keep it a secret. Given the amount of secrecy surrounding Deadpool & Wolverine, an X-23 cameo would make a lot of sense at this point. With only two more months to go before Deadpool & Wolverine opens in theatres, the world will know soon enough who is and isn’t in the film.
