While his list teased plots for Charles Xavier, Wolverine, and even Storm, Beau DeMayo’s ideas were majorly focused on Scott Summers aka Cyclops. DeMayo’s list almost came as a sarcastic blow, that hinted at how X-Men comics turned Cyclops’ devastating fate into a compelling storyline, while never actually focusing on the character’s development.

Beau DeMayo’s Hilarious List of Ideas for X-Men ’97

Following the end of X-Men ’97 season 1 on May 15, former creator Beau DeMayo took to his X account to share a list of ideas he has had for the iconic show since the summer of 2023. The list turned out to be a hilarious dig, filled with 10 basic X-Men plots that he could extract from the Marvel comics.

Although the list featured ideas about fan-favorite mutants like Wolverine, Professor Xavier, and even Storm, Beau DeMayo’s post stunned fans, as it majorly focused on Scott Summers aka Cyclops. Showcasing the majority of ideas focused on how certain events ruin Scott’s day, DeMayo took a sarcastic dig at Marvel.

According to the post shared by the X-Men ’97 creator, the list showed how Aliens, bigots, time travelers, demons, Phoenix, and even other X-Men characters emerged to ruin Scott Summers’ day. Addressing how the majority of X-Men comics’ plots focused on the devastating fate of Scott, DeMayo dropped his sarcastic post.

Beau DeMayo’s List Hinted at Scott Summers’ Cursed Storyline

Certainly, fans were quick to agree with Beau DeMayo’s post, as they filled the comment section with their opinion on how Scott Summers’ fate was straight-up cursed. Admitting how the X-Men comics kept ruining Cyclops’ day to churn out plots, netizens compared the character with American rapper Rod Wave and even independent American broadcast news journalist Miles O’Brien.

Taking into account Scott Summers’ fate in the other X-Men projects like live-action movies and other animated shows, fans noted how the mutant often suffered a lot, as he got overshadowed by other characters and eventually tossed aside. However, netizens believe it’s a fact to address how the X-Men mythology couldn’t manage to make exciting and compelling storylines without ruining Scott’s day.

Therefore, claiming that Beau DeMayo’s list, no matter how hilarious it is, is based on evidence, fans mentioned that at the end of every storyline, Scott Summers, aka Cyclops, simply showcased his worst fate.
