Jordan Peele Reportedly Met With Marvel Studios About An Upcoming MCU Movie

Jordan Peele may be joining an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, according to a new report. The Multiverse Saga is almost halfway through its big storyline, as Marvel Studios pushes forward with Phase 5. As they keep exploring the concept of the multiverse, they are getting closer to the next two Avengers movies, though the latter, Avengers: Secret Wars, will supposedly serve as a soft reboot for the franchise.

Journalist Jeff Sneider reported in his newsletter that Peele met with Marvel Studios recently about working on an MCU movie. Peele has emerged as a big-name director over the last few years, has helmed major hits like Get OutUsNope, and is currently working on his fourth undisclosed project.

While no specific title was referenced, it is possible that it could be for an upcoming movie in Phase 6, as there are still multiple projects missing directors. There are also various slots still open in the Phase 6 slate that have yet to be announced and that may have been the subject of Peele’s meeting with Marvel Studios.

Marvel Movies Jordan Peele Would Be Perfect For

One of the hottest projects right now at Marvel Studios is Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4, which they are developing with Sony Pictures. With Jon Watts not returning to the director’s chair, Peele would be a great candidate to take over as they get ready to tell the next chapter in Peter Parker’s story. One of Peele’s strengths is handling complex characters, as well as intimate and grounded stories, which is seemingly what Spider-Man 4 is looking to be if rumors are true.

With Peele also being a director who handles big casts well, the MCU’s X-Men movie reboot would be another perfect fit for him. As the X-Men film recently landed a screenwriter in Michael Lesslie, it wouldn’t be shocking if Marvel Studios is potentially eyeing Peele to board the project as its director, while also working with the scribe. Since there would likely be a large group of characters to lead the X-Men film, Peele could be the ideal director to helm the mutants’ first MCU movie.

If an ensemble film is what Peele and Marvel Studios are discussing, there is also the possibility of Avengers 5 or Avengers: Secret Wars, if not both, for him. There is also the chance that Peele is meeting with Marvel Studios about a completely different and unannounced MCU film. Hopefully, more clarity on Peele’s potential involvement with the MCU will happen sooner rather than later.
