The first official footage for Joker: Folie à Deux has been released, with Joaquin Phoenix’s return as Arthur Fleck and the trailer’s release time.
The first official footage from the anticipated Joker: Folie à Deux has been released. While there is a lot of excitement for James Gunn’s DC Universe, the only DCU project coming in 2024 is the animated Creature Commandos series. However, that is no issue, as Joker: Folie à Deux‘s exciting cast can make up for the fact that the movie is the only theatrical release from DC this year, and the first footage for the upcoming DC movie looks great.
On Twitter, the official Joker movie account released the first teaser for Joker: Folie à Deux, with the movie’s full trailer coming at 6:30pm PT.
The first look at Joker: Folie à Deux‘s story comes in the form of Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck looking sad but laughing due to the condition he was revealed to have in the first movie while rain pours on him. The character is in a location that connects to the original Joker and set photos from the sequel.
What The Joker 2 Trailer Teaser Reveals About Joaquin Phoenix’s Return
Set Reveals Tease The Joker Unleashed
The brief footage revealed from Joker: Folie à Deux shows that Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck is still at Arkham State Hospital, the movie’s version of DC Comics’ Arkham Asylum. Joker‘s ending showed Arthur running up and down the halls of the location, trying to escape as an orderly ran after him. Ultimately, the Joker’s efforts were unsuccessful, with the character continuing to be imprisoned at the institution by the time that Joker: Folie à Deux comes around, as shown in the sequel’s teaser.
Joker’s condition had already been teased in a previously released still from the sequel, which showed Arthur with his head tilted back while someone else shaved him in a place that looked exactly like Arkham State Hospital. While the Joker should start his second solo movie trapped behind bars, that should not be all that is in store for the character. Joker: Folie à Deux set videos and photos showed Arkham Asylum on fire.
Joker: Folie à Deux will have another major lead character opposite Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck in Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn. As stills from the movie have revealed, the film will depict the insane romance between the Joker and Harley. As the two characters normally meet at Arkham, with Harleen Quinzel being the Joker’s psychiatrist before falling in love with him, Harley Quinn could help the Joker burn Arkham down and escape. That would certainly help turn Arthur Fleck’s life around, as the character looks miserable in the first official footage from Joker: Folie à Deux.
