Pedro Pascal is perfect in the role of Mister Fantastic, and here’s your proof.

When fans heard the news that Fantastic Four would be recreated once again to wash away the sour taste the 2015 movie left, fans were truly excited and hoping their heartiest wishes for those superheroes would finally be fulfilled. But when they heard that Pedro Pascal had been cast into the role of Reed Richards in the saga, a lot of them were unsure about this decision of the Studios.

While that was initially understandable for those who couldn’t envision the Hollywood heartthrob in the role, Pascal’s old images resurfacing are here to wash away all those doubts. In fact, one specific vintage picture of him from a few years ago is so similar to the character in the comics that it has Marvel fans convinced Pascal was born to play Mister Fantastic!

Since Pedro Pascal has never really played a superhero before and instead is quite famous for the iconic villainous roles he bagged in franchises like The Equalizer, it was only understandable that fans couldn’t see the vision behind his getting cast in the role of a superhero like Reed Richards.

However, there’s more to this casting than the eyes can see, and one old image of the actor proves how worthy he is to play this character in the Fantastic Four saga of the MCU.

This comes after a vintage image of a clean-shaven Pascal recently resurfaced on the internet, thanks to user @KeyWatkins51299 on X.

While The Last of Us actor himself looks like a handsome zaddy in that one clean and beardless picture of his, comparing him with Richards by putting his image and Richards’ image side by side further sets the bar incredibly high.

In fact, if anything, this comparison makes it perfectly evident just why the studios decided to cast Pascal in this role, considering how the actor in his youth pretty much looks like the real-life counterpart of Mister Fantastic.

Looking at the two photos, Pascal arguably has those same hooded eyes, creased forehead, perfect chin, and even a similar nose as Richards does, which further emphasizes how immaculately the actor could embody the real-life version of his superhero character.

But — and there’s always a ‘but’ here — The Mandalorian actor has come a long way from there and even has a beard now. Yet, at the same time, even at the age of 49, the actor still holds the impeccable charms he sported back in his 20s and 30s.

This means that even after such a long time has passed, making a few changes could land Pascal back in time to see how he looked before, which was just like Mister Fantastic.

That being said, would Pascal consider shaving his beard and his iconic mustache off for the sake of his superhero role in the MCU? Needless to say, this one question has taken the MCU fandom on the internet by storm, with many hoping the Narcos actor takes this bold step.

As expected, this uncanny resemblance between the two has only further erased the doubts of Pascal not fitting into the role to a considerable extent. The only thing that remains, however, is if the actor would actually go beardless and fit right into his character or not.

Taking to X, here’s how fans are reacting to this comparison:

If considering the concept art released by Marvel Studios for this new F4 team, then there’s a high chance Pedro Pascal will keep his beard the same way he does in the concept art. But that could be solely for promotional purposes, too, so things could end otherwise as well.

Either way, to know for sure, fans will have to wait for the release of The Fantastic Four, which is slated to hit the theatres on the 25th of July, 2025.
