While he has starred in many serious roles throughout his career, he is best known for his work as Gus Fring in the beloved series, Breaking Bad. Knowing how menacing his character was in the series, fans are well aware of his capabilities as an actor and have a lot of respect for him.

Knowing how well he plays the characters he portrays, be they evil masterminds or cowardly men, audiences were extremely excited when it was revealed that he would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the entry has been teased by multiple sources and Esposito himself, fans weren’t sure which character he would be playing.

Recently, the actor teased that too, talking about the importance of his character in the grand scheme of things. As it would seem, Esposito is going to be playing quite a significant role.

Giancarlo Esposito Talks About His MCU Role

Giancarlo Esposito recently made an appearance at PhoenixFanFusion, where he ended up talking about his role in the MCU. Although he did not reveal exactly who he would be playing, he did touch on the importance of his character, as well as how he decided to enter the Multiverse of the franchise.

As reported by Legion of Sand, he started by saying that the franchise has given him an opportunity he could not refuse.

The MCU has knocked on my door and it’s a role you won’t predict. It will be teased and there will be a series afterwards.

Esposito then talked about the role itself, stating that fans will be quite surprised to know what character he is going to play. It would seem that his entrance into the series has already been planned, and it is grand, to say the least. In classic MCU style, his character will initially be teased in an unrelated project, and then finally get his own series.

The Fans Have Theories

Since Giancarlo Esposito revealed his role in the MCU, many fans have been extremely excited. Although audiences would not have minded him only appearing in a film, it is safe to say that his talents best shine in a series. On top of this realization, many fans were curious about the exact character that he would be playing, and they had more than a few theories.

One of the most common was his playing Magneto in the new era of the X-Men. This entry would make the most sense, as Esposito voiced his wish to play the character some time ago.

However, this was not the only character put out there. Other names like Norman Osborn, King Pin, Doctor Doom, and even Nova were also put in the mix. Although some of these characters are already being played by other actors, since the introduction of the Multiverse, anything seems to be possible.
