Is the web-slinger going to team up with the Merc With the Mouth or are fans shooting for the stars with this hope?
At this point, is there anyone we won’t be seeing in Deadpool 3? Ryan Reynolds first brought back the Wolverine with his razor-sharp claws, then teased fans with a potential Avengers team-up, and even Iron Man was reportedly going to have a cameo in the film. Now, rumor says we’re going to get Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man catapulting from skyscrapers in Deadpool & Wolverine?
But it looks like this supposed superhero jamboree will have to wait because the curtain is about to be pulled off the Spidey x Deadpool rumors.
Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man in Deadpool 3 Rumors Debunked
Social media has been buzzing with a rumor fresh out of the oven after an X user posted a picture of Tobey Maguire wearing what appears to be an Ultimate Alliance tee, insinuating that the Spider-Man star may be seen beside Ryan Reynolds‘ disfigured mercenary in Deadpool 3.
The reference is from Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, an action video game featuring a slew of MCU superheroes and villains, including – you guessed it right – Spider-Man and Deadpool. Turns out, however, that rumor about Maguire joining forces with Reynolds’ Wade Wilson is just that, a rumor.
A separate post on X revealed that the image in question had been photoshopped to make it seem that Maguire, 49, was wearing the aforementioned graphic T-shirt, when in fact, he was wearing a plain white tee. The photo appears to be an old one taken with a fan so don’t get your hopes up about the web-slinger being in cahoots with the Regenerating Degenerate.
Deadpool 3 – There Is Still Hope For Spider-Man Fans
Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man may not show up in the forthcoming Shawn Levy-helmed film, but a character from Spider-Man 2 just might.
Mr. Aziz (Aasif Mandiv), the sprightly owner of Joe’s Pizza where Peter Parker used to work in the sequel, is reportedly going to make an appearance in Deadpool 3 (via Spider-Man News on X). However, the veracity of this rumor remains unchecked so take it with a pinch of salt.
Among the list of characters fans will get to see though, we have a few classic comebacks by Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), Colossus (Stefan Kapicic), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), and Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), to name a few. And then there are new additiobs, the likes of which include Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), Sabretooth (Tyler Mane), and so forth.
Meanwhile, Reynolds and Jackman are gearing up for perhaps one of the most seminal superhero outings of all time with the upcoming R-rated MCU tentpole projected to bank a record-breaking $200-$239 million in the opening weekend alone (via Deadline).
Deadpool & Wolverine premieres in theatres on July 26, 2024.
