Instead of a One-Shot, Marvel Can Honor Iron Fist on His 50th Anniversary by Recasting Danny Rand With This DC Actor for an MCU Show

An Iron Fist reboot would be perfect for the character’s 50th anniversary.

Marvel has been known to be quite unjust towards specific characters in their collection. The perfect example of this would be Danny Rand, better known as Iron Fist. He is one of the most beloved mystical characters in the Marvel Universe. Despite this, the character has not had the best experience when it comes to live action

Marvel's Iron Fist

While the fans have contrasting opinions when it comes to the 2017 Netflix series, its cancellation was not appreciated by anyone. However, now that Daredevil is getting another opportunity through Daredevil: Born Again, what is stopping Marvel from doing the same with Rand, and what better opportunity than his 50th anniversary?

Marvel’s Celebrates 50 Years of Iron Fist

Iron Fist made his debut in the world of comics in May 1974 in the fifteenth issue of Marvel Premiere. Created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, the character has become iconic for many different reasons. In the years that have followed, he has become an important member of the Marvel universe, having been a part of several teams and having had a significant impact on the peace of New York.

Iron Fist Season 2

It has now been 50 years since the character’s creation, making the occasion a cause for celebration. Discussing Film recently announced that Marvel has some interesting plans for it. It would seem that the character will be getting a special one-shot that will be released later this year, in August.

The issue will feature many stories written by well-known writers like Chris Claremont, Alyssa Wong, Justina Ireland, Frank Tieri, and Jason Loo.

A Better Execution Could Be Around The Corner

While there is no doubt that fans would absolutely devour an Iron Fist-focused shot when Marvel does release it, many would argue that the franchise could do something much better for their beloved character. In a new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many characters that failed in the past, are getting another shot to prove their worth.

After all that transpired with the Netflix series, it would only make sense that they give Danny Rand another chance. Many actors would be more than capable of taking up the role of the ‘chi-ful’ billionaire. However, there is one actor who could shine in the role very well.

Danny Rand may be the Immortal Iron Fist, but his adventures have come to an end. Netflix recently announced it was cancelling Iron Fist, which stars Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) as the heroic martial artist.

Ross Butler has gained quite an impressive reputation over the past few years, having starred in many well-known projects. From 13 Reasons Why to Shazam! Fury of the Gods, he certainly has range. From his past works, the actor could be a perfect fit for an Iron Fist reboot series. If he is not the best face to play Rand, he could take up the role of Lin Lie, the new possessor of the Iron Fist, who first appeared in 2022.
