Inside the Royal Betrayal: How Harry and Meghan’s Move ‘Broke’ the Queen’s Heart

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a move that deeply hurt the late Queen, reports claim.

Meghan Markle’s intentions behind the delay of her lifestyle series on Netflix due to the raging wildfires in Los Angeles came into question by royal courtiers, who compared the move to the Sussexes’ previous actions against the royals.

The Duchess of Sussex released a statement earlier this week to announce the postponement of With Love, Meghan, which was due to be released last Wednesday, January 15. The series will now air on March 4. Meghan’s statement said: “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”

Meanwhile, People magazine claimed the duchess “didn’t think twice” about postponing her show” as it cited an insider saying it was an “easy decision” for her because she has “genuine concern” for her hometown and those affected.

But the Mail’s Richard Eden reported that royal sources made “wry remarks” about Meghan’s intentions as the Sussexes previously allowed their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Netflix docuseries and Harry’s explosive memoir to go ahead with the release, despite it being a challenging time for the royals, like Prince Phillip’s hospitalisation in 2021 and Queen Elizabeth’s declining health in 2022.

A royal source told the outlet: “Meghan seemingly didn’t think twice about going ahead with the Oprah interview, did she?” Mr Eden added: “Let’s not forget how deeply the interview with America’s chat show queen must have wounded the Royal Family. It’s not hard to see why some close to the Royal Family would treat Meghan’s concern for the feelings of others with profound scepticism.”
