Beau DeMayo’s X-Men ’97 flawlessly captured the nostalgia from the original X-Men: The Animated Series, with the same aesthetics and by bringing back the legendary mutants. Captivating audiences with 9 episodes so far, the show is set to release its finale on May 15. Meanwhile, Rogue voice actor Lenore Zann appeared for an interview to speak about X-Men ’97, her experience, and the MCU.

X-Men ’97 Voice Actor Claimed to Love The Marvels

Playing the role of the fan-favorite character Rogue, in Beau DeMayo‘s X-Men ’97, Lenore Zann navigated her way into fans’ lives with drama-filled and action-packed new seasons of the 2024 Marvel show. Adapted from the original X-Men: The Animated Series, the highly anticipated show’s season finale is knocking at the door.

Meanwhile, Lenore Zann sat for an interview with NPN, where she discussed her work experience and spoke about her opinion on MCU. Addressing questions from the interviewer, the Rogue voice actress thereafter disclosed her favorite MCU movie and shared her honest opinion on why she loved it.

Well, I love The Marvels, I do. I loved it, I loved it, I loved that so much fun. Oh, it was so much fun, I laughed, I cried, it was great, it was great to see those three incredible actresses for one thing, you know. And I was really sad that people just sort of wrote it off so fast and then even seen it really and even the people that were like ‘well I didn’t even get that cats one’”.

I’m like it was brilliant the cats music started playing and I mean I’ve done Broadway musicals right so I mean yeah, you know, I’m a musical babe so it, I loved it, I loved everything about it.

Swaying away from the crowd, who were quick to dismiss Brie Larson’s The Marvels, and turn it into MCU’s biggest box office failure, Lenore Zann mentioned how much she appreciated the film. Sharing her honest opinion on the movie that marked a historically abysmal milestone for Marvel Studios, Zann praised the actresses involved in the movie.

Lenore Zann Recalled Watching Marvel Movies With Cousins

Brie Larson’s The Marvels was released after a string of superhero flops, when the entertainment industry was dealing with the SAG-AFTRA strikes as well as the concept of superhero fatigue. Therefore as these underlying factors attributed to the downfall of the film, The Marvels witnessed a poor box office performance that allowed the film to earn $199M which was merely 0.7 times its production budget (via The Numbers).

Therefore, although The Marvels witnessed a massive drop in ticket sales, which overshadowed the movie’s strengths, leading to it becoming the lowest-grossing MCU movie, X-Men ’97 voice actor Lenore Zann admitted loving it. While fans might not agree with her opinion on Brie Larson’s film, the actress proceeded to discuss her appreciation for the Marvel franchise.

I have enjoyed all of their recent movies, the Multiverse of Madness, I loved that one. I was lucky at Christmas time.

I went home to Australia where I’m originally from and spent Christmas and New Year’s with my Australian cousins. They love Marvel and they have a big home screen like a home theatre in their home so we sat every night would watch Marvel movies and we just had the best time.”

Lenore Zann claimed to be a big Marvel fan, which might have acted as a driving force towards her role as Rogue in X-Men ’97. Recalling her life back in Australia where she spent her time watching Marvel movies with her cousins, Zann mentioned enjoying almost every MCU movie so far.
