Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine Battles Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man In Comics Accurate Marvel Art

Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine get into the ultimate Marvel battle in new Marvel Cinematic Universe art. As The Multiverse Saga has been exploring the concept of alternative realities, it has allowed other eras of Marvel outside the MCU to be celebrated. From Spider-Man: No Way Home honoring three eras of Peter Parkers to the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, which will feature Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman together as Wade Wilson and Logan.

The further that The Multiverse Saga gets into its overall story, the more ideas of various crossovers are being suggested by fans. One of the many Marvel dreams that people have wanted to see is Jackman’s Wolverine and Maguire’s iteration of Spider-Man, as Art of Time Travel brought the two of them together for a big MCU multiverse showdown.

While they have never met each other on-screen, Jackman’s Wolverine and Maguire’s Spider-Man were major Marvel players throughout the 2000s, years before the MCU movie timeline came to life in 2008. Maguire’s version of Spider-Man crossed over to the MCU in 2021 when he appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Jackman’s Wolverine now arriving in the franchise nearly three years after the Phase 4 film.

How Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine & Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man Could Battle In The MCU

If Jackman’s Wolverine and Maguire’s Spider-Man ever were to fight each other on the big screen, the larger question would then be how the MCU could arrange that and if they would actually go through with it. While it is unclear if Jackman will play Wolverine again after Deadpool & Wolverine, Maguire has been open to returning as his incarnation of Spider-Man. Given Jackman’s love for Wolverine, it’s entirely possible he could return to the MCU after this summer too, if the circumstances this would happen in did proper justice to the iconic Marvel hero.

The most natural way for a hypothetical Spider-Man and Wolverine showdown to happen would be if they crossed paths throughout the Avengers: Secret Wars plot towards the very end of The Multiverse Saga. Out of all the announced projects, Avengers: Secret Wars, and even Avengers 5, are the most logical films for the pair to meet each other due to the fact that they will play more heavily into the multiverse angle than other MCU releases. Given the tense story that will likely unfold in these movies, it would make sense if some heroes clashed in them before becoming allies.

For Marvel movie fans, it would be historical for Jackman and Maguire to finally work together as Wolverine and Spider-Man, especially for those who were passionate about the 2000s era. Since The Multiverse Saga will reportedly lead into a soft reboot of the MCU, this would be the proper time to finally unite these two Marvel veterans after all these years. Hopefully, the MCU will finally get Maguire and Jackman to share the screen in one way or another as Spider-Man and Wolverine.
