Hugh Jackman Puts Himself Through Torturous Training Regimen for Wolverine Role

Hugh Jackman recently gave a look at part of his workout routine while preparing to play Wolverine once again in the MCU’s Deadpool & Wolverine.

Ahead of the highly anticipated release of Deadpool & Wolverine, Hugh Jackman recently shared a glimpse at what it took for him to get in shape for the MCU role, and it’s pretty impressive. Jackman has played Wolverine on and off for the past 24 years, going back to Fox’s first X-Men movie. Jackman has proven that he still has what it takes to stay in fighting shape as Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman posted a short video to Twitter. In the post, he thanked his personal trainer, Beth Lewis, for her hard work, as well as her canine companion, Andy, who can be seen barking at Jackman in encouragement. Jackman’s tweet and the video can be seen below:

The video makes it clear just how much hard work Jackman puts into playing Wolverine. Audiences are still eagerly awaiting to see the end result of Jackman’s intense workouts when Deadpool & Wolverine released in July.

Wolverine was largely absent from Deadpool & Wolverine’s initial trailer, but the information that was shown did give some clues as to what Wolverine’s role might be. It’s clear from the trailer’s ending that he and Deadpool will be fighting at one point, which was also confirmed by some set footage showing the pair fighting in front of the 20th Century Fox logo. The trailer also gave a quick glimpse at a possible Wolverine variant, Patch, which would indicate that Jackman could play multiple versions of the character.

There have also been some rumors that Hugh Jackman won’t be the only Wolverine in the movie, but as of now, none have been confirmed, so it would be best not to put too much stock in them. If Marvel is going to include a new version of Wolverine, that seems like the kind of secret that would be saved for the movie. As of now, all that is known for sure is that there seem to be at least two Wolverines in Deadpool & Wolverine, and both are played by Jackman.
