Fans want Spider-Man 4 to leave MJ behind as they hope Tom Holland’s Peter Parker faces new challenges—no strings (or webs) attached!

After the jaw-dropping Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel Studios is bracing itself to find another hit in Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. Although we are not gonna lie, it’s going to be one hell of a task trying to outdo the last film. Starring Zendaya and Tom Holland, No Way Home was crafted to perfection. It had humor, drama, kickass action, and heartbreak that leaves you in tears. A classic Marvel movie.

Now that Spider-Man 4 is in talks, fans have a lot of questions. Who will direct, who will return, and so much more. While nothing is official yet, it looks like fans have one thing they know they don’t want, at all – Zendaya’s MJ. Ouch. That’s a hit for the couple’s fans. Although, their reasons seem to make sense, whether we like it or not.

Fans Want Zendaya Out of Tom Holland’s Next Spider-Man

Zendaya as MJ in Spider-Man: No Way Home

This might be a bit difficult to digest since Zendaya is MJ at the end of the day. However, with everything that happened in No Way Home, the character’s absence from the next sequel might actually be good for the film.

At the end of No Way Home, we see Doctor Strange cast a spell that makes everyone on Earth forget Peter Parker’s true identity. This includes his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) and his girlfriend, MJ. The coffee shop scene is still etched into our hearts!

According to a new report by Deadline, both Tom Holland and Zendaya are working on new deals for the sequel. Needless to say, the majority of the fans are not excited to see MJ returning.

They want the next film to be focused entirely on Holland’s Peter as he tries to adjust to his new life of anonymity. If Marvel ends up bringing MJ back to her Spidey in the sequel, it will drastically reduce the impact of No Way Home. Peter knew that Doctor Strange’s spell would have dire consequences but he was ready to deal with them all for the betterment of the world. Even if that meant losing his best friend and the girl of his dreams.

Here’s what fans have to say about it all:

Spider-Man 4 would work fine without MJ and Ned as Holland hopefully gets a new supporting cast. Especially since we will get to see Peter deal with the consequences of the last film. While we love nothing more than a good romance, it looks like MJ and Peter have gotten a bit too repetitive for the audience as they demand a break from it all and ask for a grounded Spider-Man story next.

Deadline’s report also added that Shang-Chi’s director, Destin Daniel Cretton, is in talks to direct the sequel.

Tom Holland Talks about Spider-Man 4

A few months ago, Holland had a chat with Deadline where he revealed that he would love to do as many Spider-Man films as possible as he owes his career to the character.

However, there is of course more to it than just producing films after films. Holland does not want to do anything that might end up ruining the legacy they built for the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

He stated, The simple answer is that I’ll always want to do Spider-Man films. I owe my life and career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I’ll always want to do more. We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing.

The actor added that this is going to be the first time he has been included in the creative process at Marvel Studios. Deeming it a “fun stage” for himself where he gets to watch and learn, Holland admitted that the team will do its best to make sure they don’t overdo the same things. Perhaps this includes his superhero’s romance with MJ?
