Friendship Over? Cardi B’s New Song With Megan’s Ex Has Fans Screaming Betrayal

Cardi B Accused Of Betraying Megan Thee Stallion Over New Collab With Meg's Ex, Pardison Fontaine

Cardi B has been accused of betraying friend and frequent collaborator, Megan Thee Stallion, by working with the Houston hottie‘s ex-boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine.

While real fans know that New Yorkers Cardi and Pardi go back like four flats on a Cadillac, many felt the need to confront Cardi after her “Backin’ It Up” collaborator announced that the pair would soon be releasing a track that’s been kept under wraps for eight years.

“It’s BEEN 8 YEARS @iamcardib,” he wrote alongside a song snippet. “GET THIS SONG OFF MY HARD DRIVE!!! N THEY KEEP ASKING FOR THIS !!!” He then revealed that the track titled “Toot It” would arrive Friday, Feb. 7.

“FCK IT LETS GOOO!!!,” Cardi wrote within his Instagram comment section.

Megan’s diehard fanbase, however, took issue with Cardi collaborating with the songwriter after he dropped a diss record aimed at the “Bigger In Texas” rapper last year titled “Thee Person.” The song found Pardi accusing Meg of cheating on him, lying about getting liposuction, and of having a “disgusting soul.” Due to Cardi and Megan’s collaborations “WAP” and “Bongos,” as well as other shared moments of friendship and support, the Hotties have taken issue with Cardi linking back up with Fontaine.

In a reply via X/Twitter Spaces, Cardi asks fans to keep her out of Pardi and Megan’s personal business. She added that Pardi helped craft the hook for her first hit, “Bodak Yellow,” and was a big help with her first and upcoming album.

“I been knowing this person since 2012,” she added, calling him her “best friend.”

“That’s why when people be in relationships, I be out the way and mind my business, ‘cuz, God forbid, something happens, I’m letting both of them know right now, I am not gonna stop talking to both of them. I f**ks with both of y’all…at the end of the day, I f**k with both of y’all and love both of y’all.”

Megan and Pardi began dating in the summer of 2020, going public with their romance spring 2021. While things appeared to be smooth sailing for two years, Megan was seen stepping out with a new man, soccer star Romelu Lukaku, spring 2023. Megan confirmed their split that fall, when she began promoting her song “Cobra.” The song found her rapping about being cheated on in her own bed, though she doesn’t name names. Pardi, however, took the shot personally, and released the retaliatory record, “Thee Person.”
