Fans Outraged as DC Delivers Crushing News About Superman and Green Lantern

I Still Can't Get Over The Way The DCU Just Broke Green Lantern's 13-Year-Long Movie Hiatus

DC Comics fans hoping to dive into next week’s new releases will need to hold out a little longer. Several highly anticipated titles, originally slated for a Jan. 8 release, have been punted for later drops due to ongoing distribution delays.

Issues affected include Action Comics #1082Black Lightning #3, and Green Lantern: Fractured Spectrum. These are now set to hit shelves on January 15. The hotly anticipated The Nice House by the Sea #5, part of the Vertigo imprint’s 2025 revival, originally expected in November, will finally hit shelves with the lineup on the same day.

More than just a hiccup, the delays highlight broader systemic issues in the comic book industry’s distribution networks. The disruptions during the holiday season were expected, but this year was particularly pronounced, with shutdowns from major players like Diamond Comic Distributors amplifying the problem. Whether due to logistical bottlenecks, financial, or staffing challenges, the delays have left fans disappointed and publishers scrambling to maintain their schedules and sales.

As Bleeding Cool suggests, these issues are likely to linger into early 2025, signaling a potentially unfortunate new normal. For readers, the weekly rhythm of comic releases has been a long-standing tradition. Any deviation from that norm not only frustrates consumers but risks disrupting the momentum of ongoing series, which is the case of the delayed titles here.

The delays don’t end there, however, as several high-profile Batman-related titles, collector editions, and children’s titles have also had their releases shuffled around. The Batman: The Long Halloween #1 Facsimile Edition has been postponed from January 19 to February 5. Batman: Off-World hardcover collection—originally planned for November 2024—is now set for release on April 1, 2025. Additionally, a mini-series finale, Batman: Off-World #6, planned for August 2024 has now been announced for February 5, 2025.

Other notable Batman-related delays include:

Batman ’89: Echoes #6: Originally expected in September 2024, now set for February 12, 2025.
Batman: Full Moon #4: Pushed from January 15 to February 26.
Little Batman: Month One #3: Postponed from January 1 to January 22
Batman: Justice Buster Vol. 4 SC, initially set for October 2024, will now arrive in March 2025.

Wonder Woman: The Golden Age Omnibus Vol. 6 HC has shifted from October 2024 to February 18, 2025.
Absolute Mister Miracle by Tom King and Mitch Gerads will be available on January 28
The Flash by Mark Waid Omnibus Vol. 2 HC has been pushed to February 4.

These delays, though disappointing, may be a harbinger of a fledgling publishing landscape. Comic book fans can stay updated with their local shops or online retailers to ensure they don’t miss out on the latest adventures of their favoriDCte heroes.
