Fans Feel Marvel’s Blade Could Face the Same Depressing Fate as One DC Movie After Multiple Delays

Fans feel Marvel’s Blade is heading DC’s The Flash’s way.

Blade Reboot

The world of comic books is complex and adapting the stories into one cohesive cinematic universe is not easy. Yet the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in comparison to other such universes, has managed to do extremely well when it comes to adapting several characters, storylines, and plots. The MCU can do everything from bringing the Avengers to live-action to making the unknown Guardians of the Galaxy some of the best-loved characters of all time.

But what it cannot do is make a Blade movie. The said movie starring Mahershala Ali has been struck in developmental hell since it was announced. And the latest scoop about the movie has fans worried that it will end up exactly like DC’s epic disaster, The Flash.

Marvel’s Blade Might End Up like DC’s The Flash

Mahershala Ali starrer MCU’s Blade was announced back in 2019. But ever since the movie has been stuck in a developmental hell with no end in sight. Despite Marvel Studios hiring multiple talented people, the movie is yet to begin shooting.

Over the years, the movie’s release date has been pushed back several times, with the latest being November 2025. From its announcement to now, the movie has had one change in director and several script rewrites. The developmental issues clouding the project, at one point also allegedly made its lead star nearly quit.

And now, as per the recent scoop by Daniel Richtman, after already going through multiple script rewrites, Marvel is in search of another writer for a new script. No longer a period piece, as was earlier reported, the upcoming Blade movie will now be set in the modern-day MCU.

With so many changes and issues plaguing the film, Marvel fans are convinced the flick is on the same path as DC’s The Flash. Said to be one of the best DC movies of all time, the Ezra Miller-starrer film was nothing but a glorious failure. Just like Blade, the movie too faced similar challenges, from going through several directors to passing over 45 scriptwriters, the film is now one of the worst DC movies ever made (see Esquire).

Fans Are Convinced Mahershala Ali’s Blade is Destined to Fail

DC's The Flash

With so many delays and issues, any project can either turn out to be a splendid success or a glorious failure of a multitude of proportions. Seeing how DC’s The Flash turned out, after being plagued by similar issues, the chances of Blade meeting the same fate are higher than it being an epic success.

As the latest rumor of Blade going through yet another script rewrite went viral, even fans are convinced that the movie is destined to fail.

While some compared it to The Flash others went ahead to compare it to another DC flop, Black Adam. Some even stated that Marvel should cancel the movie altogether or Mahershala Ali should just move on. Yet, there seems to be no confirmation or news from Marvel Studios so far.

Although Ali is the best choice to play the iconic Vampire slayer, seeing how long the movie is taking, it would be better if he moves on in his career instead of being attached to a film that fans are convinced is doomed to fail.

Blade is expected to be released on November 7, 2026.
