The Marvel Cinematic Universe is gearing up to debut its version of Marvel’s First Family in 2025’s The Fantastic Four, and the upcoming movie could introduce a character that would completely break the franchise’s power rankings. Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards leads the cast of The Fantastic FourThe anticipated MCU movie has finally found all the players in its main team, with Stranger Things‘ Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, The Crown‘s Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, and The Bear‘s Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.

Besides casting for Marvel’s First Family, The Fantastic Four updates have included rumors about the film’s story, where the project will take place in the multiverse, and casting for who will go up against the Fantastic Four. Amid the information that has been revealed or rumored for the project emerges a character who could debut in The Fantastic Four. If the movie does end up introducing the character in question, then Marvel Studios’ take on the Fantastic Four could be responsible for changing the MCU’s power rankings for good.

Franklin Richards Could Debut In The Fantastic Four

The Character Is Reed And Sue’s Son

The Fantastic Four could see the debuts of Franklin and Valeria Richards, the children of Reed Richards and Sue Storm. Franklin’s MCU debut would completely change the franchise’s power rankings. There are a few signs that point to the character and his sister coming to the MCU in The Fantastic Four. It has long been rumored that Reed and Sue would be parents in The Fantastic Four. Recently, a new wave of rumors and official reveals from Marvel Studios made it even more likely that Franklin could debut to rewrite the MCU’s power rankings.

Marvel has cast Ozark‘s Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, with the actress playing the Shalla-Bal version of the character. In the comics, that Silver Surfer came from Earth X, which could lead to an interesting plot for Franklin Richards. In Earth X, Franklin became none other than Galactus, who is reportedly going to be the main villain of The Fantastic Four. Previous rumors for Galactus’ MCU casting included Hispanic actors, and given Pedro Pascal plays Reed Richards, it is possible that the MCU could be looking at introducing Franklin Richards and even having an older version of himself as Galactus.

An official Human Torch The Fantastic Four poster also showed the skyline of a futuristic city, leading to theories about the MCU movie taking place in another universe, possibly Earth X, making Franklin Richards’ debut more likely.

Why Franklin Richards Would Break The MCU’s Power Rankings

Franklin’s introduction to the franchise would break the MCU’s power rankings due to the immense scope of the character’s ability. From a young age, Franklin displayed the power to perform incredible acts, such as creating pocket universes. Like the Scarlet Witch in the MCU, Franklin has the power to manipulate reality at his will while also possessing psionic powers and telepathic abilities. That, allied with his high-level intellect, makes him one of Marvel Comics’ most powerful characters, and Franklin Richards’ debut in The Fantastic Four could lead to him becoming the MCU’s most powerful character.
