Erin Foster Jokes That She’s Celebrating Nobody Wants This’ Golden Globes Nominations by ‘Pumping Breast Milk’

Foster also tells PEOPLE how her husband reacted to the hit Netflix series, which is based on their own love story.

The breakout success of 'Nobody Wants This' has been 'really satisfying' for Erin Foster in more ways than one

Erin Foster is a Golden Globe nominee, but her duties as a mom come first.

After Foster, 42, earned her first Golden Globe nomination for her hit Netflix romantic comedy series, Nobody Wants This, she exclusively told PEOPLE about the unconventional, but super relatable way she was planning on commemorating the occasion.

“I’m celebrating right now by pumping — pumping breast milk and having a cup of coffee,” she joked before adding, “Tonight is a 20th [Century Studios] party for people with overall deals at the studio, so I’m sure we’ll celebrate there.”

She added, “My husband [Simon Tikhman] is a very celebratory person, so he likes to slow down, stop and enjoy a moment, so I’m sure he’ll have us have a glass of wine together and talk about how far it was to get here.”

The 10-episode series — which began streaming on Sept. 26 — follows the budding romance between newly-single rabbi Noah (Adam Brody) and sex podcaster Joanne (Kristen Bell), who are faced with a slew of naysayers who claim their relationship won’t work.

The show’s concept was born in 2019 when Foster, who is the daughter of Grammy-winning producer David Foster, was in the midst of converting to Judaism after meeting her now-husband Simon Tikhman. The couple first met at a Los Angeles gym in 2018 and got engaged the following year.

Actress Erin Foster, CEO & Co-Founder of The Core Entertainment Simon Tikhman and Actress Sarah Foster arrive at The Core Entertainment 2024 Kick-Off Party on January 29, 2024 in West Hollywood, California.

When asked how Tikhman felt about seeing the show take off, Foster told PEOPLE that the experience has been a “crazy thing” for him to watch.

“I think, for my husband, he’s so proud of Sara [my sister] and I together, seeing everything we’ve been through on it,” she said with a laugh. “He’d love to not be the center of attention all the time, but he’s very proud.”

“He’s also just so grateful because Judaism has been such a big part of his life growing up with immigrant parents, and so for me to convert was a huge honor for his family,” Foster explained. “And so now me making a show that sheds positive light on Jewish culture and Jewish people is something he’s really proud of.”

Nobody Wants This can be streamed on Netflix.
