Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine have the ultimate showdown in new Marvel Cinematic Universe fan art. Despite only a handful of Marvel movies releasing in 2024, the MCU’s solo outing is already lining up to be the biggest one of the year, as Jackman will be reprising the role of Logan in Deadpool & Wolverine. This will be the first time since 2017 that Jackman puts on the claws again, as he will team up with Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson properly this time.

With Jackman being a crucial part of the Deadpool & Wolverine cast, the world is patiently waiting to see how the MCU brings the beloved X-Men hero back. In the meantime, Art of Time Travel shared fan art of a hypothetical Hulk vs. Wolverine movie, pitting Jackman and Ruffalo’s characters against each other.

The version of the Hulk that was used in the fan art piece is drawing more from the hero’s earlier MCU appearances. The last time Ruffalo was seen in the MCU as Bruce Banner/Hulk was as part of the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law cast, as he discovered that he has a son.

Who Would Win In A Fight Between Wolverine And Hulk?

While there may not be a Hulk vs. Wolverine movie happening anytime soon, it begs the question of who would actually win in a showdown between the two Marvel icons. If Bruce, in the present time, had to face Wolverine, it is very likely that the Hulk would actually lose. Given how Hulk and Bruce have now become one person, a.k.a. “Smart Hulk,” who is definitely not as violent as he was during the early days of the MCU, that would likely give Wolverine a major advantage, as the mutant is constantly in a state of violence.

However, if Wolverine was battling a Hulk pre-Avengers: Infinity War, Logan would almost certainly be the one to go down. The Hulk that fans saw in the earlier movies had little to no restraint, meaning that if he went full berserk at Logan, it would conclude with Wolveine’s death in one way or another. But if a showdown were to happen at this time, no matter what version of Wolverine he would face, Bruce would almost definitely be the one to be defeated.

Time will tell if Hulk and Wolverine will ever share the screen together, as it is unknown if Jackman will reprise the role again after Deadpool & Wolverine. Even if they don’t take each other on, it definitely feels likely that Jackman’s Wolverine will, in one way or another, be back at least one more time in The Multiverse Saga. But for now, the MCU audience can look forward to his grand return this summer in Deadpool & Wolverine.
