Emma Corrin Reveals The ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Death That Made Them Feel “So Bad”

This post contains spoilers for Deadpool & Wolverine.

Marvel confirmó quién será el villano en Deadpool y Wolverine: no es el personaje de Emma Corrin

As Emma Corrin joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they were dealt the unfortunate task of eliminating a fan favorite.

The Deadpool & Wolverine star said they were “absoooolutely mad” that their supervillain character Cassandra Nova killed Chris Evans‘ Human Torch during a surprise cameo after he last played the Marvel superhero in the 2005 and ’07 Fantastic Four movies.

“I felt so bad when we were in the screening the other day,” Corrin told British GQ. “Because we watched it after the New York premiere with all these Lincoln Center full of fans, and everyone was so excited when they see him appear on screen, and then after three minutes, I’ve killed him. I felt terrible. I was hiding in my seat. Yeah, it was weird. Not something I thought I’d be doing if you’d asked me a few years ago.”

Evans’ surprise cameo comes after his MCU tenure as Captain America (aka Steve Rogers) ended with 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. The movie also brought back other past Marvel favorites, including Wesley Snipes as Blade and Jennifer Garner as Elektra, as well as the debut of Channing Tatum‘s Gambit, whose solo Marvel outing never quite materialized.

“That’s something [Marvel] do so well, the cameos,” said Corrin. “You know, they give the people what they want. They give them cameos. But they also don’t use them gratuitously. They’re all there for a reason. And I think you really sense that. Or, I hope people sense that, because I think they’re used really cleverly.”

Corrin said they were “on the same set” as Evans, and although they met Garner, Tatum and Snipes, they “didn’t actually shoot together” as they didn’t share a scene.

The actor played the villainous twin sister of Dr. Charles Xavier (who was previously played by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy) in the new Marvel crossover, which premieres July 26 in theaters.
