Fans might get to see the Deadpool & Wolverine Avengers: Secret Wars teaser after all, as the hilarious bit is reportedly going to theaters.
Deadpool & Wolverine‘s Avengers: Secret Wars teaser is reportedly going to the big screen. After years with several releases, Deadpool & Wolverine is the only Marvel Cinematic Universe movie in 2024. The film brings along a multiverse story that should include plenty of exciting cameos, with Deadpool & Wolverine‘s talented ensemble led by Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Recently, new footage of Deadpool & Wolverine debuted at CinemaCon, and it seems like fans will get to see a part of it.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Deadpool & Wolverine‘s introduction video from CinemaCon is intended to play in theaters. The sequence played before other footage from Deadpool & Wolverine was shown, working as an in-theater PSA of sorts, with mentions of Avengers: Secret Wars and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine breaking the fourth wall and cussing the audience after a phone kept ringing. Marvel has not commented on the news. The hilarious bit would fit in with the franchise, serving as a nice warm-up to Deadpool & Wolverine‘s sprawling plot.
How Deadpool & Wolverine Could Set Up Avengers: Secret Wars
The Deadpool Movie Includes Some Secret Wars Teases
Deadpool & Wolverine‘s first trailer already included an Avengers: Secret Wars Easter egg, teasing the upcoming movie for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. In the trailer, a scene where Deadpool is lying down in the Void from Disney+’s Loki holds a secret. Just before Wolverine shows up, an issue from the 2015 Secret Wars event from Marvel Comics can be seen next to Deadpool.
The Deadpool & Wolverine trailer is not the only way the movie is teasing Avengers: Secret Wars. In the CinemaCon footage — not part of the opening PSA — there is a key scene that could connect with Reynolds’ role in the Avengers film. Thor was revealed to have a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine. In the footage, Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder could be seen crying over a dying Deadpool, who had half of his mask ripped off. The TVA’s agent Paradox tells Deadpool that was from the “distant future” and he was not supposed to see that.
That cameo could be a vision of Deadpool’s future in Avengers: Secret Wars, as the character and Thor would likely join the Avengers to help save the multiverse in the film. Deadpool & Wolverine will be a major multiverse movie. The film needs to bring Deadpool into the MCU, with the TVA recruiting Wade Wilson to help them with something important. With several cameos rumored for the film and a multiversal adventure, Deadpool & Wolverine will essentially be the perfect test project to make sure Avengers: Secret Wars is as good as it needs to be.
